Designed by Matthew Harris, the impressive Welcome To Barmouth Sign replaced the ones that had become old and dated, as BRIG felt that the town deserved a better first impression that the existing signs gave. With constant communication and support from Barmouth Town Council, the signs were created by Fitzpatrick Woolmer in line with the original plans designed and the ground work was done by Tywyn Construction.
The Welcome To Barmouth Sign took 12 months from start to finish and took a lot of hard work to create. Matthew Harris also liaised constantly with Barmouth Town Council, who contributed half of the overall costs. Since its completion, Sian Williams, and help from Caerddaniel, and Dave Morris with help from LL DIY, have maintained the area to the highest standards and kept the sign looking amazing all year round
The Sign is placed in a stone wall base with the planting scheme being done by Sian Williams and Dave Morris on a regular basis, and the grass cutting around it also being done regularly.
The new Signs have been placed at both entrances to the town, and incorporates logos for the Three Peaks Yacht Race, Blue Flag, National Trust and our much loved home based Samba Band.
With the new unique design, and excellent ground work, we created a welcome sign the town is proud of and is by far the best and most impressive sign in the area, and possibly in the whole of Wales .
